To acquire the same knowledge an experienced bodybuilder ( not a shitty one) has, or powerlifter takes a while. It's trial and error, you read a lot of fitness magazines, try all these supplements, try routines you find in magazines and the internet, etc. You gotta to try many many things , and kind of figure out what works for you. Though there are certain rules of lifting that apply to everyone. For example, did you know that high reps actually build size? And low reps but high weight tone, and build strength. Also you cannot make one area of your body super big, and you can't just get a six pack by doing crunches. To spare you months of learning this stuff there is a very good article on 4chan which lays it down for you.
http://www.liamrosen.com/fitness.html ' This is all you really need to know. Also go to mensfitness.com, they have yearly workouts already planned, they give you exactly what exercises to do on what days and how many reps.
Always start your workout with about 25-30 minutes of jogging or power walking or even walking on a treadmill with the incline fully increased. After you cool down, start working your way around all of the weight machines you want to use. there should be an abdominal machine somewhere around some of the upper body machines. it helps to workout your entire body and not just do the jogging and ab machine though so give yourself enough time to get a good thorough workout.
good luck :)
I cant seem to lose the fat on top of my abdominal muscle, regardless of how extreme the exercise I do or how complicated my cutting back with diet, (no starving myself please). There has to be an easier solution, cuz the fat over the stomach just won't give in. So I tried so many things, and I found this 2 weeks ago. This technique is awesome. I tried it for 2 wks and lo and behold the six-pack is starting to appear, Wow! in 1 more month & I'm pretty sure I will have the full six-pack, wish me plenty of luck! I stumpled upon this technique over here: www.allabsixpackinsider.tk
