Answers:

A healthy amount of weight would be 1-2 pounds a week. So if you look at that over 5 months(which is roughly 20 weeks) you are looking at a max of 40 pounds. You're really going to have to buckle down on what you eat, that's what makes the biggest difference in weight, but it's also a good idea to incorporate exercise into your daily life. You could probably drop a couple of dress sizes. Good luck with your weight loss, it's hard being a teen. You should check out self.com, it's basically my bible. It's a great magazine with workouts and eating plans, it has difference plans that can help you lose weight at a more rapid pace(8 or 10 pounds a month). Check it out.

Well if you work hard at it and change your diet and exercise habits, you can lose 1-3 pounds a week. A dress size is about anywhere between 10 and 20 pounds, depending on the brand.

Lost 18 pounds last school year without trying by eating healthy and running a lot in gym.

Safe weight loss is generally considered one or two lbs a week. Usually the first week you will have a little more and sometimes you will plateau and have no weight loss at all. I would say 20 lbs is possible. After 20 lbs you will probably drop about one dress size.
One option that worked well for me was weight watchers. I lost 50 lbs in one year.
