I have lost 7 lbs in 8 weeks?!

Question: I have lost 7 lbs in 8 weeks?
how can I lose weight at a faster rate? I am going to the gym and eating smaller portions. I need to lose 10 more lbs to be at my ideal weight. I have also built muscle mass which I believe is replacing the fat. How can I build less muscle mass. Thanks

Answers:

Don't try to do more than 1-2 pounds per week. Otherwise it'll do damage to your body. Take it slow eat correctly, eat enough, and keep exercising. If you don't want to build muscle i'd suggest don't do a whole lot of weight training, you're going to get some muscle gain doing anytime of exercise, but one thing great about muscle is that it uses more energy(calories) than fat does to sustain itself. To lose 1 pound you have to burn 3500 calories more than what you use on a day to day basis. Good luck.

As your body gets more efficient at your exercises and more accustomed to your meal plan, it will actually lose weight SLOWER as you progress. Also, the smaller you get, the more your body will resist your attempts to lose more weight.

While plateaus can be broken through with hard work and a change in mentality, I have to question your motives. Why are you focused on a target number rather than health and fitness? Why are you so fearful of muscle mass? Unless you have been working in a bodybuilding routine, the amount of muscle mass gain will be insignificant in the long run and in the big picture.

A pound of muscle takes up less room than a pound of fat, which means clothing gets smaller and you appear smaller from the outside regardless of the number on the scale -- the scale can't tell WHAT makes up the number it spits out.

It is better to be heavier due to musculature than with fat, because a person would still be leaner.

Running, treadmill etc. The smaller you get the less weight you're going lose. As your body gets small and doesnt have as much fat to lose it will slow down tremendously, but If you 1-2 lbs in a week or so, don't get discouraged gotta keep going.
