What exercises to do to lose belly fat?!

Question: What exercises to do to lose belly fat?
I'm 16 and I'm getting my belly pierced soon, but I wanna some of my belly fat. I'm skinny but I have a tiny bit of fat towards the bottom of my stomach. I don't wanna lose my butt size, chest size, or too much weight, I just wanna look good. I'm about 120-125 lbs., and I'm about 5'4 1/2". What exercises could I do to get in shape?

Answers:

Unfortunately, when you burn fat, you can't control what body area loses it. You can, however, minimize the appearance of fat by controlling what's underneath it. I'm the same size you are and have found some ways to minimize the appearance of that little "bump" just below the belly button (through my work in an orthopedic office, fitness training in the military and ballroom dancing). First, it probably sounds obvious, but make sure you aren't bloated with gas or retaining water. Next, make sure your diet allows you to eliminate at least once a day.

As for exercises, be careful! If you build up the muscle below fat, it can actually push the fat out farther. I've found that core stabilization exercises (the core is the front, back and sides of your torso) combined with good cardio can keep my lower abs pretty flat. Don't exercise your lower abs without also exercising your other core mucsle groups or you'll increase stress on other areas of your torso. Taking care of all of your core muscles will not only allow you to do more powerful cardio, protect your spine and improve your balance, it will give you a longer, leaner overall appearance. The exercise that helps me the most with flattening my lower abs: Lie on your back, place your hands under your butt (helps relieve lower-back pressure) and raise both heals off the floor about 6 inches. Hold this for about 10 seconds, then lower. Do this in sets of 10. Don't overdo it if you've never done these before, even if they seem easy. You will hurt the next day. To increase the difficulty, lift your legs to a 45 degree angle with the floor, then reach toward your calves with your hands and raise your torso off the floor at a 45 degree angle (the only thing on the floor will be your butt). I've included a link below for additional core exersices.

I hope this helps!

You cannot target fat loss - the only way to lose the belly is an overall fat loss and that can only be achieved by diet and good cardio workouts. Unfortunately that also means you will lose some on your chest and hind end.....

Crunches, and cardio.
