You can't just get rid of the fat around your abs just like that. If you have excess fat around your midsection, you need to lose weight everywhere. You don't just lose weight in a certain section, even if you workout that particular area, if you do you only add muscle, you do not burn much fat. Burning fat is a universal process, so cardiovascular activities would help you. Building muscle at different parts of your body will help you burn fat faster. Muscle burns fat. Dieting will also help, but if you eat too little, your body will fight losing that weight. Dieting is just as important, if not more important than the workout. Think of it this way. If you have a high quality car, you give it higher quality gas. If you are going to work out, you need to have a high quality diet (not cutting calories).

One of the best ways I found was through P90X. The program works just like the commercials. You just have to follow it everyday. I did the program, and it worked for me. That would be a fast way for you to do that.

Work on cardiovascular workouts about two to three times a week, workout a different muscle group everyday, and work your abs every other day. Let the muscles repair before you tear them again. Eat a proper diet, and you should be on your way. If you don't have that much to lose, you it shouldn't be too difficult to lose the fat around your abs, however it's a slower process than one might expect.
