How to convince my mom to buy me the P90X?!

Question: How to convince my mom to buy me the P90X?
Ok, so summer's coming in three months so I'd like to use these three months to get in shape. My mom is against muscle-building in girls because she thinks that girls are supposed to look "feminine". However, even though I am way far from being overweight, I have a little problem with my self-confidence with 2 inches of fat covering my stomach. I find the P90X to be my best, fastest, and only hope into changing my shape/fitness. Also, having muscles and getting them naturally is really healthy. I think I totally deserve a little affordable gift for myself. I'm excelling in high school. I've read online that you work out with the P90X for 45mins-1hr per day. I usually don't get much homework, so I can definitely use this P90X while getting all my school work done. I've found the cheapest one on Craigslist that is $65. I really will not be able to do this at all without my mom's support. My dad's ok with it, but he doesn't work so he can't find the little money I need to pay for it. So, any advice on convincing my mom will be greatly appreciated!!

Kudos to you for doing well in school, I would use this as part of your persuasion for your mom. Tell her you want to "balance" your life by bettering yourself in all aspects of it, physically and mentally. Inform her that P90X does not mean you will become one of those "muscle-building girls" and you will actually be focusing on toning and gaining strength, not increasing muscle size (high reps, low weight). Maybe try to work the angle that by boosting your physical appearance it will ultimately affect your self esteem and confidence which would help you succeed in life. Hope this helps, good luck

honestly I can see why your mum won't buy it, not to say I don't think you should have it but that's still quite a lot of money. I couldn't really give you any tips to get your mum to buy it for you, and if she doesn't give Bob Harper's series a look at. they are some of the hardest workouts I've ever done and they are like $10 at Walmart , either his or any of jillian micheals. I've lost close to 60lbs with them in less then a year.
