Chewing gum while working out?!

Question: Chewing gum while working out?
I find that chewing gum while working out helps me work out MORE than not chewing it. It's like...a stress thing?

Do you think it's weird? Or a bad habit?

Do you do it too?

Answers:

It's a little weird, and could possibly be a bad habit if it affects your breathing. Getting sufficient oxygen to your lungs while you work out is important, so if that is in anyway affecting that, then I would cut it out.

But honestly, you should be working out at a level where gum-chewing is not possible because your breathing too hard. Sounds like your kind of taking it easy at the gym. Push yourself if you really want to see results.

It isn't a stress thing. Chewing gum helps because it provides sugar slowly as you work out giving u constant energy and perseverance. Many people do it however it might be dangerous in some cases where you can choke on the gum so some may say do it others may say don't but if it helps then y not?

I think it is a bad idea. You should not be grinding your teeth while working out and you might choke on your gum wad accidentally, in addition to not being able to breathe most efficiently under exertion.

I cant chew gum because i wont be able to concentrate
