Question: Why do people say you need to eat organic foods in order to lose pounds or inches?
me and my friend we exercise and eat healthy but don't eat organic and we both lost allot of pounds and both are stomachs got a little flat but we've been eating fruits vegetables brown rice, oatmeal salads tuna salmon chicken whole grain cereal things like that and we've been exercising and lost allot of pounds and inches and we don't eat organic. so why do some people think you only need to eat organic in order to lose weight?

Answers:

Organic foods have nothing to do with increasing weight loss. Food has the same number of calories regardless of whether pesticides, etc., were used. Besides that, many items labeled "organic", such as candy, are not regulated by the FDA and are overpriced. It's crazy to buy organic bananas just to toss the peel away. There are reasons to buy organic, but weight loss isn't one.

Just eat healthy and wash your fruits, vegs. Good luck.

It's a false assumption. People say eat organic, because of all of the pesticides, and hormones/steroids that end up in non-organic foods. They don't say you have to eat organic to lose weight, but they do say eat organic to stay healthier. For example, many fear that bovine growth hormone is causing young girls to hit puberty sooner, and affecting their fertility.



because vegetables and fruits provide the most energy and are non fattening
