Anorexia Discussion?!?!


Question: Anorexia Discussion?!?
How do you become anorexic? I skip my lunch and breakfast and people say im going skinny.
They say im becoming anorexic. Im really not? Im not that stupid! I skip breakfast because I rush about in the morning and often feel sick to eat early in the morning. I skip lunch because Im not hungry.
And I come home from school and my mum cooks my dinner. So im still eating Its just I want to stay the way my body is. I know its not healthy but its just what I do.
Theres a difference; Anorexica is a mental illness and not eating lunch and breakfast is just me!
what shall I say to the people that are questioning me because Im not Anorexic!?

Anorexia is when people always think they are fat no matter how skinny they are. They think they have to be perfect. I have a friend that is like you too. Some people just don't get hungry as easily!

We are learning about Anorexia and Bulimia in health class right now.



If you keep eating like that you will get too thin. Even if you are not hungry, try and eat something small at lunch since you don't have time for breakfast. Try exercising too...don't do it to lose weight cause I doubt that you need to lose weight, just exercise so you are healthy because everyone needs to have exercise. Drink a lot of water too. But don't keep skipping meals.

Dude, anorexia can also be defined as being underweight. It is very unhealthy to skip meals , your blood sugar drops dangerously low, and your body starts to consume fat to create glucose for your body and especially your brain, to use. In the process, producing ketones as a by-product from fat metabolism that can damage your kidneys. After your body has used up its fat reserves, it turns to metabilizing your muscles. As well when you don`t eat on a regular basis your body goes into starvation mode where it actually slows your metabolism so you can`t burn calories as readily, and any calories your body recieves it stores as fat. As well, you lack energy to sustain yourself throughout the day, and your brain can`t function on a deficit of glucose since most of the calories consumed are used by your brain. It stresses your heart and your whole system, as well, your not getting all of your energy and nutrional needs if your not eating at regular intervals throughout the day.
