Push ups for two day in a row, then no push ups for recovery on the third day wo!

Question: Push ups for two day in a row, then no push ups for recovery on the third day would be ok?
I would probably be doing 50 push ups the first night, with different inclines, and maybe 20-30 the second night, and take of the third to relax and recover the muscles

Thanks!

It's best to go every other day. Muscles fibers form when many cells die from working out, if you're consistent the newly formed fibers get stronger and stronger with each workout. If you don't give them time to rebuild then you won't see much progress because there won't be a's many replacement fibers and the won't be much stronger. Your method will probally work fine but it would be best to go balls out and really push yourself everyother day. Everybody's different so do what's best for you

Are you trying to gain muscle? You won't get very good results w/ just push ups.

Well anyway, 50 is too low. You should start off with 5 sets, 20 reps each. With like, a 30 - 60 sec rest between each set. You'll get better results with that.

On your recovery day, do some abdominal exercises to get some abs going. Just switch between both exercises every other day or something.

Oh, and increase the amount of reps you do every week.

i tried for awhile just doing a 1 a day more formula.

start at a low to average number. i started at 10 and just add another push up everyday. i got up to being able to do 30 then just started back over.

Why are you doing push ups?
