Working out, counting calories, but says I'm gaining weight?!?!

Question: Working out, counting calories, but says I'm gaining weight?!?
I've been doing (cardio) workouts for like months now and I have also been counting my calories using an iPhone app. I try to eat the amount of calories that it says (1200) but I've been getting more hungry often now and it says on the scale that I gained 2 pounds. I am 14 years old, 5'1 (done growing) and weight 123 but it says that I'm 125.5 now and I also feel fat after I eat (even breakfast which is a bowl of cereal and some strawberries) I also walk/run with my dog. I don't think i've been developing muscle either. Whats going on? how can I lose weight (since the cardio workouts aren't taking anymore effect).

For my workout I do this 10 minute cardio video and some other different things. I keep switching to different videos on youtube (for losing weight) because I get bored easily if I do the same workout routine. Please tell me the best ways to lose weight (especially in stomach and thighs) and whats going on (why im gaining weight).

Answers:

First of all, you're not done growing at 14. Your body can continue to grow untill you're 21. Second, 10 minutes of cardio a day isn't enough, and third, 1200 calories is WAY too little. You're not losing weight because your body is in starvation mode. You are 14 years old, your metabolism should be through the roof and you SHOULD be eating at least 2,000 calories. 1200 is literally the least amount of calories your body can get by with each day, but this is meant for older adult women. You're young, and your metabolism is at it's highest so you are not giving your body all that it needs, and in return, your body is holding on to the calories and fat you give it and not burning it off because it needs every calorie. So up your calories to at least 1800-2000 calories, and start doing 20-30 minutes of cardio a day, 5-6 days a week and you WILL lose weight, I promise.
One more helpful tip, don't do stupid youtube videos for workouts. Get outside and RUN around and do fun things! You'll burn so much more without even realizing it!

Firstly, don't pay attention to the number on the scales. I suggest measuring yourself as well as weighing yourself. When I was losing weight I would get frustrated because the scale was staying the same or getting higher but because I was measuring myself I realized that I'd lost inches instead. It kept me motivated.

Also, 10 minutes a day isn't going to do much. You need to keep your heart rate up for at least an hour.

hello, I have been having this overweight problem for a long time. I used to buy all types of products. Until a friend recommended this method, I was a bit skeptical at first. I didn’t see much result until after the first week, but I was feeling good. After going through that initial stage, which was a real confident booster, I started to develop good eating habit so I could continue to keep off the fat. I couldn't be more happier. Well, you could be in starvation mode. You are only 14 and so you probably are still growing, plus you are physically active. You should be eating much more than 1200 calories and contrary to popular belief less calories does not always mean more weight loss. In starvation mode, your metabolism slows down a ridiculous amount to cater to the amount of calories you are getting, and so you start to not lose or maybe even gain on that much. Your body doesnt know when you will get enough calories to work properly and so it will hold onto every calorie as fat. Try an online calculator to find your recommended calories and try eating that. You might gain a little bit of water weight at first but after that you will lose all that weight and more! Good luck!
