How do I know how much fat......?!

Question: How do I know how much fat......?
I'm 17 years old 5"11' weight about 170. And I need to know how much body fat do I have. How do I find out

Answers:

You have a lot of different methods.
The Near-infrared interactance, the Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, the Expansions, the Body average density measurement, the Bioelectrical impedance analysis, the Anthropometric methods, the Skinfold methods, the Height and circumference methods, and from BMI fluctuations (with visual examination).

Choose a method and stick to it so you can measure your progress with the same method.
I choose the tape-measure formula method (all you need is a tape measure and to know how to measure yourself).
It’s a different formula for different gender and age. Like I’m a woman over 30 so I need to use hips, thigh, calf and wrist measurements but you’re a young guy so you need to use waist, hips, forearms and wrist measurements.
You’re 17 and male?
Men Thirty Years and Younger
Waist + (1/2 hips) – (3 x forearms) – wrist = % body fat
Example” waist = 34”; hips = 36”; forearm = 11”; wrist = 7”
34 + (1/2 x 36 = 18) – (3 x 11 = 33) – 7 = 12% body fat

How to measure yourself...

Waist:
Stand up straight, relax, don’t suck in your stomach, measure your waist at the greater circumference.

Hips:
Stand with your feet about 4 inches apart, measure the greatest circumference which include your buttocks (it’s more a buttocks measurement than a hips one).

Forearm:
(Use your dominant side)
Clench your fist so your forearm is flexed, measure at the widest part between the wrist and elbow.

Wrist:
Measure just above the bony part protuberance (toward the hand).

Those are from Covert Bailey and you can go online and input your gender, age and measurements and they will calculate your body fat percentage.
(I put the link in the source)

Edit:
Your BMI is 23.7 (normal) and has nothing to do with body fat.

Edit again:
For men, 5% is for gymnasts and rock climbers, 7% for runners, 10% for body builders, 12% for aerobic dance instructors, 13% for cyclists, 14% for swimmers, 15% for average healthy people, 22% for average people, above 25%, you’re in the overweight category.

The best way is to have your BMI (body mass index) tested. If it's 25 or so you might want to eat a more balanced diet or increase your exercise routines.

Anything under 20 would be awesome.
