If my parents have always had a "pooch", does that mean I will never h!

Question: If my parents have always had a "pooch", does that mean I will never have a flat stomach?
Kayso, it's in my genes that I will be chubby. Both my parents, and their family, have never really been skinny. And as far as I know, none of them have had flat stomachs. Even when my mom was in high school, she was extremely skinny (that was the only time in her life she was ever skinny. she just laid if the junk foods & whatnot.) when she graduated, she was 5"2 and 105 lbs. yet she told me that she still had a pooch, even when she was considered to be "skinny". and my dad was never exactly fat, just a little stubby. haha.
so anyways, I've been working on my stomach for a while, and it has trimmed down some. not only that, but my body fat percent has also decreased. (yay!) But i just read that if it's not in your genetic cards, you most likely won't have flat abs. even if i work really hard & do everything right :(
so is that true? i hope not, i've been working really hard. and i'll be taking Gymnastics next year in High School.

Answers:

Where'd you hear that? Anybody can get a flat stomach if they really try. It's great that you've lost fat and you tummy has trimmed down. Just keep on targeting your stomach and working out your abs and you'll have a flat stomach soon enough. :]

Also, it's great that you are taking gymnastics because people who take gymnastics usually always get flat abs eventually. :]

Good luck :D

the reason she still had a tummy even though she was super skinny is cause she lacked lower abdominal strength. work your upper AND lower abs. This doesn't just mean crunches. It also means leg lifts indian sits. lemon squeezers ect ect. to work both abdominal sets.
