Would you say that I am fat?!


Question: Would you say that I am fat?
I am sixteen, female and losing weight.
I have lost five kilos in amonth and have gotten to this stage. I'm 5'7.5 and 64 kilos in the evening with clothing on, my BMI with that taken into consideration is 21.6, i'm aiming for 18.
Here are two photos taken today, I have eaten so my tummy is bluging. This sin't sucking in or tensing.

No, I would not say that you’re fat. Of course you’re not.
Do not aim for an 18 BMI that would put you at 53kg and underweight. It’s okay to have an 18 BMI if you’re a skinny teenager gaining weight while growing but it’s not okay to be a teenager and lose weight to get there (weight loss when you’re a teenager leads to eating disorders).

Do not weigh yourself in the evening with your clothes on (that is depressing). You need to buy a good scale and weigh yourself every morning, after you pee, naked, before you eat, on the SAME scale, at the same place BUT only look at the data on a monthly basis, so food/water/waste weight fluctuations will just be irrelevant and temporary weight spikes up and down.

I think for 64kg (141lbs), even at 5’7.5, you’re surprisingly not chubby as you seem to have the ability to make fat reserves in a nice overall way. I’m 5’5 and I can look fatter than you at 120lbs if I’m out of shape (I cannot make fat reserves in my skinny arms so it all goes in my belly and behind).

I see that you have a stationary bike in the background. That is a very good fat burning exercise. Do low intensity aerobics, zone out while watching TV and burn 400 calories/hour at a slow 12.5mph speed. Get a gel padded extra seat for comfort so you can sit on it for up to two hours without hurting your ischium (the bone where you sit on).

You should also do calisthenics (crunches, lunges, squats and pushups) and use small weights to tone up and get some muscle definition that will make you look great. So you can lose body fat using the stationary bike and gain muscle mass doing weight training, maintain your weight but look much better and be stronger too.



You look perfect. Don't lose any more weight. 18 would make you look gross. Stick with 21.6. 20 would be the absolute lowest you should be .
