do crunches/situps really help?!

Question: Do crunches/situps really help?
so im 16, and... ive always been the type to just.. stay fit. all the time, for some reason, its like im addicted to it. and so.. ive been doing 40 situps, 7 days a week, and ill do 40 of them, with 50 pushups, and ill do those about 3-4 times a day,

and ive noticed, i have a very nice upperbody, like biceps, and arms... and i can see my two upper abs showing pretty well.

but not my others? im 3.5% body fat too... and i eat correctly. etc.

but how can i get the others to show up? or will they show up with time? i also have a treadmill in my house, but i can only run on it during the day time. should i be on this? or is that really needed, since i dont need to lose weight?

thanks! i can add some more info into the info box if you like, just ask!

Mix up your workout routine. If you stick with the same one all the time, your body will become used to it and you will see no results. The treadmill would be great. Also, take in some more calories per day. Peanut butter sandwich, banana, etc. It will help you build muscle. Mix up the routine and you'll see results! I wish I was as fit as you...haha.

Well crunches target the upper abs, which is why the results prominently show there. There are TONS of other abdominal exercises you can do to tone your obliques (eg. Medicine ball twists), middle abs, and lower abs. Addig those various workouts to your routine will improve your fitness, and define your abs all over.

Yes you should be on the treadmill, If your not seeing your lower abs you should now add lower ab exercises to your workout plan. I have a feeling your only doing the traditional crunch. You should also work you Obliques. If you google lower ab exercise and Oblique exercise you'll get an idea of what you should add into your workout.

Not really.

Plus consuming only 1100-1200 calories a day does not constitute 'eating correctly'.

You need professional help, sounds like you may have an eating disorder.
