Is fruit and yoghurt a good daily breakfast?!


Question: Is fruit and yoghurt a good daily breakfast?
Hey there i am currently trying to lose weight, and i just wanted to know if eating 1 banana with a handful of grapes mixed with a low fat yoghurt is a suitable breakfast to eat everyday??

Considering my usual breakfast consists of a bowl of cereal and 2 pieces of toast with butter and jam.... surely it's gotta be an improvement??

well thats seems pretty small. maybe you should add 1/3 cup rolled oats, or some granola bars, something carby. did you ever try all bran cereal? that stuff is amazing. its great in yogurt!! i have it each morning!!!

by the way, it IS an improvement, but toast and jam with butter isnt all that bad. unless you DROWNED the toast in butter and jam. than thats bad :)

"add something carby"???? what do you think banana grapes and low fat yoghurt is? Low fat yoghurt has its fat replaced by sugar - go check a label out - its 95% carbs, of which sugars is about 90%

You will loose weight because this is low calorie - it is not a good breakfast because it is not balanced, it is simply sugar upon sugar.

Bananas and grapes are some of the highest GI (glycemic index) fruits - they should only be consumed around periods of activity - if you walk to work/school for 15 minutes plus it should be ok.

Personally I think something like oats with decent full fat milk would be better, you get complex carbs (low GI) - protein from the milk and oats, and fat from the milk.



Thats a fantastic breakfast, however you should balance it out. You don't have to "HAVE" it everyday maybe you may get bored of it if you had it "EVERYDAY" it's up to you, yes it is healthy and absolutely it can help you lose weight if you keep eating it everyday for breakfast. But you can have different foods everyday but it can be the same calorie wise or maby less and more fulling it depends on how you feel. Personally I could eat for few days then, few days eat "CEREAL" quaker oats poridge which is good for your CL and good vitamins.

It's an excellent breakfast. You could add a little muesli too if you wanted, or a slice of toast.
