How can I lose weight fast?!

Question: How can I lose weight fast?
I need some advice. I am getting married next year but I want to lose some weight before this summer comes. Is there any advice you can give me to losing weight within the next 9 weeks??

Answers:

1) Start strength training. This is key. Think of your body like a car. If you do not strength train, you have a little 4-cylinder rice burning engine. No matter how much you stomp on the gas, you won't use a lot of fuel. Now swap in a supercharged V8. When you goose the throttle, you're guzzling gas! Same principal with the body. The more muscles you have, the faster your body burns calories. Even when sleeping!

2) Snack often. Do not lot yourself get hungry. Hunger is a trap. When you are hungry it can take over 10-15 minutes for your brain to be satisfied. In that time you can consume a lot of calories. If you snack often, you don't get hungry as often and are less likely to overeat. Also, by snacking you ramp up your metabolism. You fool your body into thinking it has a constant supply of fuel, so it doesn't stockpile any. It just burns whatever it gets.

3) Perform cardio for at least 45 minutes or more, and do cardio 2-3 times a week (or 3-4 if you really want to push it). Get your heart rate into a good fat burning zone (a good heart rate monitor helps with this). The reason being, the human body stores enough carbs to fuel muscles for that long. As long as you burn carbs, you are not burning the fat. Once you burn the carbs, however, your body has to dip into its fuel reserves to keep going. However, take care to stay safe. You can hurt yourself if you exercise too much.

4) Exercise early morning if you can. That gets your metabolism going the entire day. Plus, you will probably feel more awake and alert.

5) Don't look at a scale. Ever. They are evil, and you will get discouraged. Your weight will fluctuate. Muscle weighs more than fat. As you gain muscle you gain weight. However, long term, you will be healthier and loose the unsightly fat. So don't fall into the weight loss gimmick. Get into a fat-loss mindset. If you absolutely must look at a scale, do it only early morning, after you get up, and compare weeks, not days.

6) Eat a good breakfast. A high-fiber cereal and juice is ideal. Eat a moderate but healthy lunch. For dinner, it is often best to stick clear of complex carbs if you can (e.g. bread) but that is not essential. Cut out unecessary fats, but don't cut them completely. Your body actually needs some fat to function.

7) Don't starve yourself. If you are hungry eat. If you get and stay hungry your metabolism will shut down and that can do more harm than good.

8) Take vitamins. Exercise can sap the body of nutrients it needs to fend off infection. Fortify yourself appropriately. If you are sick, do not exercise. It can simply make things worse.

And yes, for the record, all of that is a complete pain in the butt. But if you are serious about it, that is what it takes.

9 weeks isn't a lot of time. However exercise is about the only way that you can lose weight fast and healthily. I would recommend walking an extra 2 miles a day. Buy a pedometer to accurately calculate this. At the end of 1 week evaluate if you need to increase or not. Don't cut out too many calories but instead replace poor nutrition with well balanced meals.

If you lose weight fast, you will gain it back. Eating habits have to change in order to maintain
proper weight. Have a balanced diet, portion control, no snacking, no diet pills. Plan ahead all
meals so you will not be tempted to eat the wrong foods. Keep a diary of what you eat, and count
calories. Drink water, cut down on sodas, have fruit instead of juices because of fiber content.
Make sure you cover all food groups for nutrition. Take one multiple vitamin daily and exercise.

exercise 3-4 times a week and eat right. if you're that desperate, hire a personal trainer
