How much weight could i lose if...?!

Question: How much weight could i lose if...?
If i ran everyday for about a half hour for 3 months how much weight could i possibly lose?

I'm 160 and need to be at about 120, having a gym member ship isn't possible (live out in the country) and i was going to run everyday for a half hour, and of course eat healthier.

Answers:

Let's start with the basics. There are approximately 3,500 calories in a pound of body fat.

With a constant speed of six miles per hour, a 150 person running for half an hour would burn about 350 calories. Add or subtract about 60 calories per hour for each ten pound deviation or 30 calories per half hour. So you would burn 380-ish calories in a half hour.

If you eat exactly as many calories as your body requires to maintain your weight-- your Base Metabolic Rate (calculate your BMR by going to one of the websites linked below)-- and run every single day for 3 months, or 91 days, that's 34,580 calories burned.

In other words, you'd lose close to, but a little under, 10lbs of body fat.

If you couple that cardio routine with a 300 calorie deficit per day, you could close to double that number. But, talk to your doctor to be sure that's a healthy rate for your body type and goals!

Good luck!
