Is it ok to go to the gym everyday?!


Question: Is it ok to go to the gym everyday?
here's my routine
Mon-Back,biceps Abs
Tue-Chest,triceps and shoulders(trapz and delts)
Wed-Legs and Abs
Thurs-Back, biceps Abs
Fri-Chest,triceps and shoulders(trapz and delts)
Sat-Legs and Abs
Sun-Rest


is it ok to go to the gym almost everyday just working out different muscle groups?
any suggestions are much appreciated THNX

Yes that is a good workout split to have, though i would move shoulders to your legs day if possible and never work any muscle group 2 consecutive days (you have abs listed for wed and thurs) just do abs mon, wed, and fri. Thats plenty of abdominal work you, and it allows your abs to recover and grow before you work them out. Also make sure you are doing at least 3 days of cardio for at least 30 minutes, try fitting it in on tuesday, thursday, and saturday. Making your cardio high intensity interval cardio, in order to keep down fat.

In addition to all that make sure you have a good healthy diet and are getting at least 8 hours of sleep per night.

Other than those points i made, youve got a solid schedule.



I used to go seven days a week, but after a while I started burning out and showing classic signs of over training - exhaustion, difficulty sleeping, lack of appetite, bad temper with other people, feelings of anxiety, etc.....

My doctor and my family members all expressed concern over what they termed my obsession with exercise, and it has now reached the point where I am seeing a counsellor to try and find out why I am this way and also to endeavour to sort things out so I can live a more healthy lifestyle. I also have issues with food, but that's another story not for this forum.

From a personal point of view, I would recomend a day off a week to rest and recouperate. As other people have said, your body does need a break, and it is not recomended that you work the same muscle group two days in a row.

I am working on my mindset and, with the help of my counsellor, I am hoping that eventually I can change the way I think and thus change the way I eat and exercise, hopefully for the better.

I don't want to scare you or worry you with my post. Simply to say enjoy what you are doing, listen to your body, and above all - have fun!!!

Yeah, it's healthy as long as you're not working ALL day EVERYday! and you should be eating a balanced diet so you have the energy to do this. I'd say an hour a day with a day of rest and a healthy diet is fine! it's a good thing you can be motivated



Keep doing what you are doing, you will have a long life for sure. Exercise is the best thing for your body and is recommended daily. As long as it does not interfere with your life, enjoy yourself at the gym and love your body. You should feel good and..probably sore.



Going everyday for a gym is good, if you want a good physique, According to my suggestion you should follow your routine with guidance of some gym instructor or any fitness expert.
