I feel so bad after eating?!


Question: I feel so bad after eating?
im 13
i don't like eating and if i do i feel i have to exercise afterwards - which i do. even if i have a piece of fruit i feel so fat. i also calorie count and i have about 200 to 500 calories in a day. i hide food that i don't eat in the bin so nobody notices.
non of my family knows about this and i don't know what to do. and im too embaressed to tell my mum cause she wont listen to me.

It sounds like just the idea of eating food scares you, it's brave that you're eating what you are and it's brilliant you've been able to.

It can be really embarrassing to talk about things like this, I was wondering when I read your question what makes you think that she won't believe you. It might be worth thinking about other adults you could trust to talk to, whether it's another member of the family, a family friend or even a teacher.

Writing a letter can be a brilliant way to tell someone something you're embarrassed about, it means you get to really think about what you want to say, you control how much your saying and nothings slipping out that you might not be quite ready to say yet. Maybe have a think about what mum might say if you were to write her a letter explaining how you feel, or what other people might say as well. Maybe write the letter and give it to the person you want to, you could even leave it for them, or use it as a guide for talking yourself. Whatever you're comfortable with is fine.



Well you should never feel ashamed of eating. You deserve to feel happy about yourself and about the food that you are taking in. You need to remember that our bodies need nourishment and they are desperate to have good things like fruits and veggies. You need to eat the healthy stuff and give your body some nourishment. The amount of calories you are taking in is enough to keep your body asleep, but you don't sleep 24 hours a day. So eat something good and if you can't get over this feeling then you need to talk to a trusted adult who will get You help. Be happy!



You realize that being underweight is just as bad as being overweight right? You need about 2000 calories per day. You must be counting calories wrong because you can't be eating only 200 calories a day. Your body should need more than that to function. Exercising is a good thing, but you definitely need to eat. Not that you will follow any of this advice...



You will be dead soon on that very small amount of calories. You are starving yourself, and you body is in starvation mode, and is starting to break down muscle and organs in order to get the energy it needs. You are in a very dangerous situation and need to talk to your parents or a school counselor or a doctor immediately.



Honey, that what you are discribing is the beginning of an Eating Disorder... I know what Im taking about, I used to have one.
Ask for help at school, if your mum doesnt listen to you. Or right your mother an email...
On the internet there are many sites that offer help to girls in "recovery", tips on how to build up you self esteem...
I know this might scare you, but people can die from eating disorders....

Don't feel bad. Think of your body as a machine it needs fuel (food) to function. it is bad to be underweight just like it is bad to be overweight. If you don't think your mom will listen then talk to a teacher.



don feel bad...food is fuel. as long as your eating healthy you'll be healthy and can eat a lot. Just avoid junk food and try to get all of the food groups. I eat like 3000-4000 calories per day and i never gain weight



You're an anorexic, better get help before you kill yourself.
