When is the best time to do cardio for fat loss?!


Question: When is the best time to do cardio for fat loss?
I'm so confused here. Some say to eat before cardio, some say do it first thing in the morning before you eat. I want to take advantage of the best time to do cardio. I am completely a morning person and am currently doing cardio first thing when I wake up.

I do light weight lifting three times a week and I know to eat before weight lifting and then I usually do my cardio afterwards.

Anyone have a GOOD REASON to do cardio at certain times? More like a scientific approach to it? And don't tell me "anytime" is the best time to do cardio because yeah, that's obvious. I want the most optimal time to do it. Thanks !

your first statement was correct.. first thing in the morining before u eat..
that way u burn fat quicker.. and u use the fat storage for energy for the workout.. its tougher this way.. but body fat is burned quicker.. so i advise u doing this for 3-4 weeks to quick start results..

if u do not make the cardio in the morining.... then do it always after the weight training.. because the weight training burns the carbs off... the when u do your cardio most of the carbs are burned..

so there u go



Morning is best because it boosts your metabolism for most of the rest of the day. (Strength training can boost your metabolism for up to 24 hours after you're done - cardio not as long, but it still has a benefit.)

Eating before or after doesn't matter, as long as you do eat. Your body needs the food to replenish the glycogen storage that it uses during your cardio. Whether or not you eat is preference; some people get sick and dizzy if they go run 5 miles without any food in their stomach, others will get sick if they DO eat. So it's personal preference - whatever works better for you.
