Will Using a Punching Bag Help Me Lose Weight?!

Question: Will Using a Punching Bag Help Me Lose Weight?
I'm trying to lose 80 lbs in 8-10 months and I'm thinking about buying a punching bag and some gloves. Will punching and kicking a punching bag burn a good amount of calories? I already know that I have to change my diet and burn more calories than I take in. Amazon has very good prices on bags and they're in my budget. I can't afford a treadmill or elliptical and I can't go outside running. I just want something I can do in the privacy of my garage.

Boxing is actually a very good way to burn calories, that sounds like a great idea but you probably want to more of a well rounded workout like adding something else. I understand you not being able to buy a treadmill, they are expensive. However, would you workout by watching videos on your computer? You can go to Exercisetv.tv here: http://www.exercisetv.tv/workout-videos/…

They have great workout videos, all free, that you can watch on your computer or on your TV if you have video on demand. They have everything from kickboxing, walking, yoga, cardio, and dancing. Some really fun workouts. I lost 20 pounds in less than two months just from using their videos.

Hope that helps and I wish you the best. You can do it!

of course it would!
Shoot I use to be an overweight kid till I bought a punching bag not only it made me lose weight it made me stronger and punch harder..when you punch you sweat alot...so run around the punching bag while you punch pretend your fighting somebody! and play some music too also helps keep going and drink alot of water while your taking a break

self experience

Doing this will actually help you gain muscle and make you a lot stronger. Its not mainly for losing weigh. I think you should try a small routine of half an hour with jumping a rope or sit ups and THEN use the punching bag. This will help a lot more.

Please another mine?

Yes it will help. The best by far in my opinion is jogging and running. I have lost 30 lbs since january by eating healthy and running 2 miles 5 times per week.

Not exactly. you will be burning fat/calories BUT you will also have bigger muscles. And as we all know muscles weight more then body fat
