I NEED HELP! Please READ!?!

Question: I NEED HELP! Please READ!?
I am 20, 5'7 and 117 lbs... I am insecure about my body shape. I do not weigh that much but my mid section is a little more curvier and it's hard to tone up that area.

I was on strict dieting for a few weeks and I was seeing results and working out but mentally I was more insecure and found myself unhappier.

So, this past week I BINGED all I wanted, ate whatever I wanted, chilled and didn't even worry about my weight. Well, I still look the same, haven't seemed to gain anything as of yet but I feel like I felt happier when I didnt WORRY so much about my weight or shape and just enjoyed life.

I'm torn between wanting to buckle down and look like a bikini model and eating what I want and enjoying my life instead of being so insecure.

Does anyone relate with this? What can I do to have both? Please this is a serious problem.

Answers:

The same thing happens to me. Im 6ft and 154 lbs (18 male) with a resting HR of 60bpm which is good, but have a little unwanted fat on my stomach (holding back a 6 pack). I eat pretty healthy and hate being pedantic about food, especially around friends (eg. eating potatoe chips, deciding on having syrup on pancakes, eating roasted peanuts which are close to 50% fat).

I feel worse when i try to slim and get no change vs. eating free and no change. I think its all down to genetics so i find it best to have 2/3rds healthy food and when i have the 1/3rd unhealthy, go easy on it. I barely have lollies cus im a type 1 diabetic but that doesnt seem to make a huge difference anyway.

You can only try so hard to change your body. Save the unhealthy foods for special ocassions like when you go out places or on weekends only. I like doing this because it lowers the guilt factor when eating these foods and makes it seem worth it cus you waited and essentially earned it (it tastes better too :p)

General exercise is good for the body, so keep that up too. All i can really say is, eat what you want, but in healthy moderation. Good luck
