I drank 1 gallon of water yesterday and ate 1,600 calories and I woke up 3 pound!

Question: I drank 1 gallon of water yesterday and ate 1,600 calories and I woke up 3 pounds heavier. Is it water weight?
Answers:

Yes, most likely. Water is denser than fat (that's why fat people float better, seriously!) and also why, if you diet and exercise, you will possibly GAIN weight! What happens is your energy produces muscle tissue which is denser and heavier because of water content- and thus adds to your weight, but because your muscles pull in when they're ripped, you might fit into smaller clothes and look in better shape generally.

A danger of having too much water (a gallon is a LOT) is that it can dilute your digestive juices to the point where your food doesn't digest properly, leading to gas, constipation and even weight gain because the food hangs around for longer. Try to be moderate and make sure you keep your electrolyte (Salt and Glucose) balance as well if you take a lot of water.

Absolutely not. You cannot gain weight off of water. Whatever you ate obviously caused you to gain weight. Try eating Weight Watchers, which you can find at your local grocery store, or meals that are low in calories and sugar. Of course, avoid eating too much salt in the process. Exercise whenever you can. If you haven't exercised in a while, start off slow. For example, walk 15 to 30 minutes whenever you have the time. Increase your workout by jogging 15 to 30 minutes. For belly fat, you can do crunches. Try using a mat or carpet whenever you're doing that particular workout because you don't want to hurt your back, for it is significant to the human body. If you feel any sharp pain in your body while excising, slow down. Stop if you must. The key to losing weight is eating healthy and exercising as much as possible. Remember, consistency is the key. The more you eat healthy and exercise, the more you will see great results.

My own experience.

It most certainly isn't fat weight. There are around 3500 calories in a pound of fat I believe. So even if you burned 0 calories somehow (which is obviously not remotely possible) you wouldn't have gained even half a pound.

Unless you live in a hot climate where you perspire a lot, or ran 10 miles or something, you don't need a gallon of water in a day. 2 quarts, maybe a little more, ought to do it. Drink your two quarts in 8 glasses of water, each glass 8 oz.

water weight is an excuse for weight gain/loss. your weight can vary by three lbs. a day. do not avoid water for fear of a scale number. the body regulates the amount of water it needs; as long as you drink water.

Yes, it's just fluctuations in water weight. You cannot gain 3lb of fat overnight, you also cannot gain weigh on only 1600 calories a day.

probably, thats a lot of water lol.

ya its water weight. just go take a dump or go pee and you will be fine

Yea

Try walking for an hour 3-4x a week
