I like to take after workout and as a snack at around 11 in the morning. I usually take 220 grams a day 1 gram per pound of body weight. Creatine is an entirely different compound that i use to supplement with my protein. i use water, milk has fat, but you can use skim milk for a little better flavor. Im just used to the taste so i use water.

Whey protein is what is left over after cheese is made. Why not just eat some cheese?
Creatine is available in most lean red meat. Your body makes what it needs using meats as the basic amino acid.
The body can only deal with a max of 30 grams of protein over a 4 hour period.
But your muscles heal and rebuild 24/7 so drinking a protein shake right after lifting really doesn't accomplish anything. Any excess protein not used can be converted to body fat. It doesn't just "pass through" if you don't use it.
