What is the strongest muscle in the body?!

Question: What is the strongest muscle in the body?
I heard from some people that it's the tongue, but some book says that it is the neck muscles that attaches your head to the body?

Answers:

Glutimus Maximus. Strongest gladiator ever.

per pound, the strongest muscle in your body is your jaw muscle (the one that lets you clamp your mouth shut) overall, your strongest muscle is your gluteus maximus (your bum cheeks). Your trapezoids and spine erectors take a close second, however, and your lats aren't far behind.

I always thought it was the tongue too. I guess it's the way how it's able to move so intricately, compared to other muscles.

I'd like to know if it's really the strongest too.

LOL at the different answers x)

The strongest muscle IS really "masseter" which is located in the jaw somewhere. And I speak from knowledge x)

Your jaw muscle... don't know the name of it though.

Actually its your legs. Idk what made them think of such an idea...
