Im not fat but that's not wat my school said....?!

Question: Im not fat but that's not wat my school said....?
they did a hight and weight check and said im on the verge of becoming overweight...which can't be right. i used to be a gymnast and i have a ton of muscle in my arms and legs...both are practically solid and my stomach is still bikini able...so im 5'1'' and i weigh 140..when i ask people how big do i look they'll say about 118 or 120...should i worry about my weight by the number? or instead just how i look? im healthy as can be but the number doesn't say the same

any suggestions or helpful thoughts?

Answers:

the number is just a number. im 5'1'' myself and only weigh about 100, only because i don't exercise and don't have much muscle mass (people say i look like i weigh 110, i probably have more fat in my body than muscle mass, yikes).

but the reason they say you're overweight is because you're an athlete. they're not saying you're fat, theyre just comparing your real weight to what you're supposed to weigh for your age and height.

don't worry about it! as long as you KNOW you're healthy that's all that matters, girl!

**** your school! Muscle weighs more than fat. Focus only on how you look. And besides, if people say you look like you weigh 118, then there's nothing for you to worry about.

I had the same problem with my weight, even though I was slim and quite fit.

you can't always go by the scale. numbers aren't even half of the equation. Fitness and health cannot be completely described with kg or pounds.

if you're in shape and eating correctly you have nothing to worry about. those tests don't calculate in your amount of muscle :D

That's a lot of weight for your height.
