My daughter thinks she is overweight?!
Question: My daughter thinks she is overweight?
Answers:
well her bmi is 27.5, healthy is 18.5-25.5, 120lbs is 20.5 bmi but if the doctor doesnt think she needs to lose weight and she doesnt look it then dont lose weight. Is she fit or muscular?
Tell her that she will continue to grow in the next few years and like as not, will lose weight naturally then (provided she eats healthily, excersises) as her body uses it to get taller etc.
It is important to tell her the number on the scale means very little. I would get rid of it.She should be more concerned about her clothing size and how she fits into it.
Make sure she eating enough and healthy foods and she will fat into a weight that is right for her.
One of the answers above is crazy 5'5 and 200 pounds is pretty big. And I think she's fine since she is athletic. It's probably muscle but if she wants to lose weight let it be like 10pounds maybe?!?
I'm around her height
im 13 years old and i am 5'5 and weigh 111 pounds. if she doesn't look overweight and the doctor doesn't think so either, then don't have her lose weight!
Tell her she needs to put on weight!! She's tiny!! I'm 13, 5 foot 5 and weigh 200 pounds and I don't even consider myself fat so she certainly doesn't!!
Well I am 13 years old and 5'4. Only I weigh 124 pounds and I am trying to lose weight. I hate not havingy weight in the 110s. So I Want to change that and plus I'm getting some gut and my butt is kinda big. Anyway I personally think your daughter is big, no offense to her or you. Why don't you had her check a BMI. Also you must remember that at our age, it's not just about being at a healthy weight but about being thin. Look at what's popular for kids out age to wear. Tight shirts, tanks, skinny jeans, short shorts. Plus it's almost bathing suit season. I can understand why she would want to lose weight. At her height, it wouldnt be a bad thing. I think you should just support her decisions. I mean what is she going to do to lose weight? Eat healthy, exercise more? That's a good thing for anyone
