Is cardio the best for weight lose?:

This is difficult to answer without giving you an exam. "weight loss" in the fitness world needs to be re-written to "fat loss" I have GAINED weight before and actually have been healthier, lost a lot of fat and had lower cholesterol. Remember muscle is denser. So 1lb of fat takes up FIVE TIMES the space 1lb of muscle does. How much your body is pulled to the earth and makes the scale read is irreleavnt. These are things that will make you get in much better shape:
1)Loss of fat. - You don't want a fat ratio less than 9% and no greater than 20% So find out your fat ratio. (bodyfat percentage)

2)Don't use weight as a measurement of your progress. You will discourage yourself and think you aren't making any headway and give up. IF the scale is going to lower (which it will if you are overweight) it will take some time before you see those results.

3)Be realistic. Those people on that show have a lot of time and you have NO idea how much time has passed when you see the results they get. It's all condensed. Also they are handheld in what they eat, HOW they work out and how much effort they put in is "drill instructed" by their coaches..
You are alone, free to eat as you please and nobody is going to prod you along the treadmill... Hence you might not rocket to the 6 week plan they claim to have "earned"

Is running up and down the stairs, jump roping good exercise?:
Yes. Any exercise is good but those are good for a few reasons.
1)cardio
2)Easy to do anywhere so compliance will be high
3)Highest impact for the effort exerted

How many times a week should I workout for and for how long?
At least 3 times per week and as long as you put in 30 minutes (or more) each session you are going to do great!

My fore head was sweating!! Do you think that was a good workout?:

Yes. Sweat is a great indicator of you expelling calories. The more you burn, the better you will get at this!! You do NOT want to be dripping like you are in the shower. It should be a mist and nothing more. It's a KNOWN fact that going beyond your "burn index" heart rate wise is actually a complete waste of time. If you can get to a gym only one time, have them do a "bod pod" workup on you. This will find out what your "ideal heartrate" is for burning fat. :D it's WAY lower than you think and much easier to achieve than building mass (instead of losing fat)

does it make you feel that way too?

Generally speaking, any accomplishment makes me feel good. Yes it does make me feel that way. Energy, happiness they're components of a good fitness regimen..

Lastly, you didn't ask but FOOD.
Intake is at least 60% of the battle.
If you took two people who sat on a couch all day and did NO EXERCISE and one ate what they wanted and the other ate only what a specialist (for nutrition) fed them, the person being fed would LOSE weight.
Go online and find sources that will provide meals and ideas for weight loss (fat loss) in mind.
Atkins is the best proven because of compliance.
A lot of people on here will say "eat this or eat that"
but if you aren't all about salads and cottage cheese you simply won't obey the plan.
Atkins has a high success rate because people aren't "giving up" any of their favored foods. Hence MAJOR compliance

Hope that helps.

Start runnin

Working out releases endorphins and they make you feel better naturally. You should be drinking only water and at least an hour of cardio everyday. BUT and this is where most people screw up losing weight, when you lose based on only cardio its easier to gain that weight right back because youre only shrinking fat cells. However when you add weight/resistance training youre replacing that fat with muscle. By doing that you'll have an overall better body and be healthier too! Gl

Eat healthy: eat 3 whole meals a day. For your meals, you want something healthy and that fills you up so that you don't get hungry again for a long time. You need to also make healthy choices like eating whole wheat bread or whole grain bread instead of white bread and brown rice instead of white rice. Cut all junk food. They are bad for you and cause weight gain fast. Cut fast food as well! If you get hungry in between your 3 meals, eat a piece of fruit/vegetable, low-fat yogurt, skim milk, or fruit juice. THey are all good and healthy and will burn fat. As well as eating healthy, combine with exercise and you will lose the weight healthfully and easily. Diets don't work in the long run. When you consume too little, or deprive yourself of certain foods, you are also not getting the essential nutrients. That's why everyone gain the weight back and more in diets. Diet's are a plan for fail. INstead, just focus on eating healthy. You will feel better, look better, and perform better. Opt for a healthy lifestyle, not a fad diet. that's how you lose weight and keep it off for good.
For the exercise, don't overdo yourself. Just walking, jogging for 1 hour each day will be more than enough. Rememeber to rest for 1 day of the week. Also, if 1 hour is too long for you, you can BREAK IT DOWN thorughout the day. Nobody said you have to get it all done in one shot, just do some after you wake up, some in the afternoon myabe, and sometime before or after dinner. It's more managaeable that way.
eat healthy and exercise is the golden rule of losing weight. Good luck hun :)

I am actually just working on a diet / exercise program that I feel is really good. The keys are to exercise as much as possible as to burn the much needed calories and in turn the fat off your bod. Remember lean muscle uses more energy on a daily basis so strength exercising can increase results in a doubling effect. Diet wise since your a none meat eater you have to get that protein in other forms powders(good quantity with low carbs, so you don't slow up matoblism) tofu and nuts are good. Try and eat your body weight in grams of protein. If you weigh 100 pounds 100 grams is perfect. That's just for protein but my ultimate secret to shredding weight is increasing your metabolism. First nooooo carbs! except first thing in morning you should eat a high fiber cereal with ground flax seed. NExt green tea! I have like 5 plus a day and I actually drink a lemon/green tea mixture I make at home instead of the constant water. Lastly lots of ruffage carrots/ celery and so on. I think you will find this works I have lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks like this so good luck!

Well, cardio is not the best thing to focus on when loosing weight. The problem with most people going back to the gym is that they care more about extra weight they gained and not about their flabby muscles. The thing is that when you quit exercising you start loosing your muscle mass and gaining fat.

The best thing to start with would be general workouts where you make all you muscles to work. I am sure you can find some workout routines for that online. After you catch up with your muscles, you will find your metabolism getting better and you will be loosing weight more effectively. Of course you can do some cardio after working out, but don't make a major thing out of it
