How did I lose weight?!?!

Question: How did I lose weight?!?
I had a plateau so I took from advice from a online trainer who told me to take a week off working out and eat healthy. Okay so I did that (I did let myself splurge last night)and when I weighed myself, I LOST 2 pounds! How did that happen? (I don't think it was muscle mass because it usually takes 2 weeks for muscle to degenerate).

Answers:

If you had been eating less than about 1200 calories a day, it is possible for your body to go into "starvation mode" and your metabolism would slow down. Thus, by eating more yesterday, your body thought that it was the end of starvation mode, and your metabolism increased by a lot. So you lost weight. :D hope that helped :)

It happens to me all the time xD

Sneak in extra exercise in addition to your regular program. Park at the far end of the parking lot and walk; take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Eat healthy fats from nuts, seeds and olive oil, and high-fiber foods such as vegetable salads and whole-grain pastas.

Choose foods that you like. Learn to prepare healthful, low-calorie foods that taste good by checking healthy cook books for new recipes. Eating well doesn't have to mean eating dull.

Eat smaller, more frequent meals. This way, your body starts to increase its metabolism so that calories are burned faster. Also, mini-meals can prevent overeating.

Keep a food diary. This will help you pinpoint where you can improve your diet.
