Is this proper grammer? I have seen opossum or raccoons in my yard?!

Question: Is this proper grammer? I have seen opossum or raccoons in my yard?
Or should opossums be pluralized as well?

Answers:

Well, they should both be plural, but the real difficulty in reading the sentence is that it starts out like a statement "I have" and then ends like a question. Assuming that the question mark is only intended because you are wondering it it's correct, then the statement would probably read best as "I've seen either opossums or raccoons in my yard."

I don't like the or, surely and?
