Question: I think i'm pregnant. could you please read. i need advice. seventeen years old. xx?
okay so i had sex on April 8th. my last period was from march 29th to april 2nd. we didn't use a condom and i'm not on birth control or anything. he did finish inside of me. i know it would be to early to tell now but i have no idea when/if i ovulated yet or if i'm in my fertile time. today i had some discharge it was like egg whites and stretchy. im having slight abdominal cramps mainly on my lower left side. do you think i'm gonna end up pregnant from this? 100% honesty, opinions & advice. thank you so much xx Chels.

Answers:

Most women ovulate 14 days after the first day of their period, so you should be in your fertile period now. Sperm can last several days, but is it's strongest the first day. If you've never used birth control before, there's a chance you could get pregnant, but if you've been using birth control (spermicide or the pill) up to this point, it's unlikely. The discharge probably indicates you are entering your fertile period; it's not a indication that you're going to get pregnant.

Hate to tell you but it sounds like you are ovulating. Most women ovulate around 14 days before their expected period. Stretchy, thick discharge is definitely a sign of ovulation. If you had sex a few days ago, sperm could have survived up this point. So, you could be pregnant. It might not be too late to take the morning after pill.

omg! im go glad someone brought this up, because i was crampin last night but i didnt have me period and i havent started, it was on my left side and in my back, me and my boyfriend had sex, he didnt use a condom and im not a bc, he he... well, you know and i was wondering the same exact thing!

i was 17when i had my first, you usually ovulate 1-2weeks before your due your period.. the stretchy offwhite stuff could have been the remainder of his seamen coming out.. you could get pregnant from this, but the chances arent as high as if youd done it next week, good luck hun x

Egg white mucus is a sign of ovulation, so is the one sided cramps. I got pregnant from having sex 6 days before my ovulation (we were trying to get pregnant, so I was charting my sex and ovulation), so it sounds like you had sex at a fertile time. However, you are still in the window to take the morning after pill. I took it once or twice when I was 17, and it was free at planned parenthood. You dont need an appointment, and I would hurry. I believe you have 4 days from the time you have sex to take the pill. (If you are already pregnant and the embryo has implanted it will not cause an abortion. All it is is an extra strong dose of birth control pill, so it tricks your body into thinking youre already pregnant so you dont actually get pregnant)

good luck.

You could be pregnant -- the timing of your sex is in the window where you could be ovulating.

The discharge you describe is likely to be ovulation.

It's not typical to get cramping so soon after conception, but it's possible. You can read about early pregnancy symptoms at : http://www.americanpregnancy.org/getting…

If you've had sex within 5 days, you can take emergency contraception (also called "the morning after pill" or "Plan B"). This is an effective counter-measure for pregnancy. It's most effective when taken as soon as possible after sex, but can be effective up to 5 days afterwards. It's available at most drug stores and pharmacies and, since you're 17, will not require a prescription.

Pregnancy tests can be effective as soon as 7 days after conception, and are more effective after a missed period. When the directions are carefully followed, they're very accurate.

Good luck!

Honestly it could go either way. It's way too early for you to experience any symptoms. The discharge is normal, it's your vagina's way of cleaning it's self. Don't panic yet, the only thing that you can do at this point is wait it out and take a test in about 3 weeks. I know it seems like forever when you are in this kind of situation but for now just try your best to forget about it until it's time for you to get your period again otherwise you will go crazy worrying. I wish I could be more help but only time will tell :(
