Why am I getting weaker in weight training? Help Please?!

Question: Why am I getting weaker in weight training? Help Please?
I am 14, 5'8", 159lb. I weight train 5 days a week at least. I eat really healthy every day, no cheat days, from all food groups. I eat 120 grams of protein at least. I am getting really weak. It started yesterday, I rested Friday and Saturday. I can barely complete second set now, before i used to do 3. I have been weight training for about six weeks. I train for about 2 hours and 30 min, 1 hour and 30 min for upper body and 30 min for lower and 30 min on treadmill.

Detailed answer please.

Dude, you're working out 2 1/2 hours, 5 times a week? That tells me a lot.

It tells me that first off, you're not allowing enough rest time, which is why you're feeling weak. Rest is just as important as working out. You break down muscle fibers during workouts and when at rest, that is when your muscles will grow, assuming you take in adequate protein. You're only 14, so I won't harp on you regarding your protein intake. But once you turn 18, you should be getting in close to 1 gram of protein per body weight. Currently you're a bit short on that with only 120 grams.

Another quick thing is that I think you need to increase the intensity of your workouts, while reducing your time at the gym. At my pace, there's no way I can sustain hard weight training for 1 1/2 hours. To me it says you're not really pushing the intensity at the gym and or wasting too much time in between sets. You should be "in and out" in 1 hour with respect to just weights (there are exceptions).

This happened to my brother. He was overworking his muscles and so he took 3 days off and when he got bk to training he found that he could lift alot more weight than before. Your muscles may just need some time to generate for cells and rest existing cells.

You need to rest. Your body will only get stronger during rest periods, it doesn't get stronger during work out sessions.
