Help with flossing?!

Question:

Help with flossing?

Hey i just went to my dentist a few days ago and he said that I was developing some gum problems. So I started to floss, but my gums bleed and sometimes its hard to get the floss between the teeth, is this normal for someone who didn't floss for a few years who just started again? And I decided to use listerine after i floss, but some of my gums are still bleeding, is it ok to use listerine or do i have to wait for it to stop bleeding?

Answers:

Yes, thats normal...just keep it up and the bleeding should go away. As your gums get healthier, they will no longer bleed with flossing. Listerine is fine to use as well. If you still have bleeding even though you are flossing go back to your dentist; they can make sure you have a good technique, or identify something else that is causing the bleeding.
