What does it mean when a certain toothpaste hurts your teeth?!

Question:

What does it mean when a certain toothpaste hurts your teeth?

Answers:

It is uncommon for a toothpaste to "hurt your teeth." Perhaps if it is a whitening toothpaste, the bleaching component may sting or tingle a bit. Also, if it's a baking soda toothpaste or a listerine or scope toothpaste, the additives may have the same stinging or tingling effect. Of course these feeling should be only temporary and will likely subside after using the product a few times.

Some people have adverse effects to cinnamon-containing or cinnamon-flavored toothpastes. If you find that you are having a mild reaction around your lips or discomfort in the mouth, stop using the paste and switch to a different type. By a mild reaction I mean slight redness in areas where the cinnamon-containing paste has touched.

Good luck... Find a toothpaste that you like so that you can brush routinely without discomfort.
