did you ever have braces? cuz im getting some and im so nerves what should i do?! do they really hurt ?

I got mine on about 2 weeks ago. I was so so so nervous. I thought it was going to hurt, but when they were putting on the brackets, I didn't even know they were doing that. I didn't feel a thing because all they do is glue them to your teeth. One thing you need to know is DO NOT TASTE THE GLUE! It is terrible. But yeah, they wil lstick on the brackets and then they will put the wire in. You won't feel any difference until you get hom about 3 hours after. This is the worst part. Be sure you have soft foods in your house. I ate Speghetti O's after I got mine on.
To make the pain less intense take a pain killer a half hour before your appointment to get them on and an hoiur after you get them on. This will help SO SO SO much.
Do not be scared.
Oh, and you will have to get spacers before braces, and to me, those hurt worse than the braces.
So, just don;t worry. Bring something to do when they put them on like read or listen to your iPod. My orthodontist let me bring a DVD to watch.
