Sealed teeth.?!

Question:

Sealed teeth.?

hi i had my molars sealed about two years ago. so my question is...is it possible to get a cavity even though your molars are sealed. cause i've never had a cavity and i was just curious?

and also after so many years do you have to get your teeth sealed again?

Answers:

There is no way for the food to get in the sealants so there is no way to get a cavity. The dentist will check them at your appointments and tell you if they need redone. They last for a couple years at least, depending on how good they adhesion of the sealant was to begin with. Sometimes, if they get wet when they are being done (happens a lot, no ones fault....) it can affect the bond.
