Answers:

Yes! Too much calcium can REALLY hurt you! It can cause kidney damage and even kidney failure. Too much of ANYTHING can hurt you. Even water.

You shouldn't ingest more than 1,000 to 1,300 miligrams of calcium per day. Most of this you get from red meat, milk, some vegetables, and more. So most people don't need to worry about calcium supplements.

3 packs of Tums is WAY too many. Consuming TOO much calcium actually slows down bone growth which will eventually make your teeth and bones weaker (which defeats your whole point of taking them in the first place). However, calcium needs Vitamin D to help it do what it needs to do. So make sure you have a balanced diet. Calcium alone cannot do a whole lot. I have a bottle of Tums here and it says not to exceed more than 9 tablets per day for 100% of the calcium you need each day. I don't know how many are in a roll, but I am assuming you are getting an EXCESSIVE amount of calcium and your body can't handle it. Do yourself a favor and throw away those Tums and avoid them for awhile. They are probably what is causing you to throw up so much.

You can calculate your calcium needs here: http://www.tums.com/source_calculator.as... Just enter how much dairy, vegetables, meats, etc, you eat each day and it will tell you if you are getting enough calcium or not.

PS: If you have a bleeding ulcer and have been throwing up every day for 4 months, you need to go to a doctor NOW! That is NOT healthy. If your stomach lining breaks down too much, the acids in your stomach will start leaking into your body and will eat away other organs. The acids in your stomach are EXTREMELY corrosive and will cause major problems and even death. Get that taken care of ASAP.

No more Tums please!! You're killing yourself!
