Question:
Spacers???
I have to get braces in a few weeks.
Tomorrow I'm going in to my othordontists to get 'spacers'.
Can you please tell me what spacers are.
And if they hurt or anything?
If you've had them just tell me everything that happened and how your
teeth felt afterword.
I'm really kind of scared.

This morning I had my appointment to get my spacers and the overall thing only took about a minute or so.
But I have to say.
They hurt horribly and the only thing
I've been able to eat pain free is spaghetti o's and macaroni and cheese. But Thanks You Guys.
Answers:
Spacers are little discs, almost as small as like a piece of a popcorn kernal, and thats exactly what it feels like, a piece of popcorn stuck in between your teeth. It doesnt hurt in the least when they put them in, but they do get a little painful over the time you have them, but only for a day or two. When they take them out it provides a space for the bracket that goes around your tooth that they cement in there (no it doesnt hurt putting it on or taking it off) The braces will hurt for a week or so, but its totally worth it. Spacers are baby steps, they barely hurt. Just be careful about what you eat, cus if they get pulled out its not a bucket of fun. (I chewed gum)
