Is getting a fake tooth put in painful?!
Question:
Is getting a fake tooth put in painful?
I have never liked the dentist, among many others, and I am curious as to if it hurts or not.
Answers:
If you get an implant, which is a two-step process, with the first part being surgery, you will be given a local or general anesthetic, and possibly pain medication for a few days after the surgery. When the dentist attaches the tooth to the titanium implant screwed into the bone, you'll also get a local anesthetic. There may be some soreness afterward, but not much. Probably the only thing you'll feel is the soreness after the initial implant, and the prick of the needle when they give you the local anesthetic. But since dentists usually numb the site before giving that shot, you shouldn't feel that very much, if at all.
