Kinda Gross, I get dead skin in my mouth. Is that normal? What can I do to stop !

Question: I used to only get it when I smoked. But I quit that years ago. I use sensodyne toothpaste, and the dentist told me to use Listerine with Flouride (Purple listerine) I dont know if one of them is causing it or what, but its really disgusting.

To describe it, I'm pulling pieces of white stuff off of the inside of my cheeks. I'm assuming its skin... what else could it be? It doesnt hurt, but it tastes bad when it gets on my tounge, and obviously if I pull it out in front of people theyre going to be disgusted... what is it/what do I do?

It is an allergy. It is called "sloughing" of the gum tissue. Like you described, it peels away and is like a white slimy film.
I usually see it with toothpaste allergies, but Listerine is very high in alcohol so that maybe what is causing. The Listerine toothpaste is notorious for this, as well as the rinse. Iwould stop the Listerine first to see if that is what it is, then if still happening, stop the Sensodyne.
The purple kind of Listerine is a fluoride version, if you need a fluoride rinse, try Colgate Pho-Flur (OTC).
Or you can go more natural and try TOm's of Maine it isn't made with harsh chemicals.

I think you should tell your doctor about it.

its definately the listerine, ive only started using it recently and ive got the same stretchy, gooey white stuff on the inside of my cheeks and by my gumline. it seems worse when i keep the listerine in my mouth for a long time. hope this helps, i thought i was the only one!!
