What is this elastic appliance on my daughter's braces called?!


Question: It's a long elastic type thing that goes over her wire and two brackets that is being used to bring the front teeth together.

Those are actually called 'power chains'.

Maybe they are called rubber bands. They used to actually use little rubber bands when I had braces. Those must be more durable, uh, what your daughter has.

Edit: You'd have to find out specifics from her orthodontist. What she has must be a new thing. I've never seen it like that before.

its a power chain thingy. i had them a few times. their basically like a robberband that is used to bring the teeth together
