Hello, I didn't see your first question, but I grew up with a terrible phobia about this. I had it from age 8 to age 36. I am SO GLAD to be free of it, and you can be too. It may take a few times, but I hope I can help you so you won't suffer as I did. (Nobody helped me.)

First, tell the dentist you are nervous but that you are trying hard to be calm. Dentists deal with this all the time, so it is good if you tell.

Second, try simple breathing. Just focus on your breath. If you concentrate on steady breathing it will take your attention away from everything else.

Third, your dentist might have something else similar to distract you -- not gas -- like music. Many do, so again the idea is to discuss it.

Please remember that your dentist wants this to be successful for you. When I was young, I didn't understand that. Although you are out of control in one way while you are in the dentist's chair, you the patient are the most important person in the room at all times.

I will be thinking of you and wishing you well.

Take it from me, you can do this! I did! :)) :))

ohh plzzzz will you just relax lts nothing

Well, start by telling your mom and dad just how scared you are and ask them to help you. If they're willing to give you their support it will calm you very much. Make them understand just how afraid you are even if it means yelling and screaming at them to get their support.
