Question:

I have a small bump on the roof of my mouth, and i dont know what it is.do you?

its been there for about three days and i dont know what it is it doesnt hurt or anything but its really annoying .. my friend scared me by saying that it was a tooth growing but im 17 and the bump is right in the middle of my mouth it cant be a tooth

Answers:

If it is closer to the front teeth it could be your incisive papilla, which is a normal landmark (bump). If it is up higher it may be a blocked duct or a bony tori (normal bony growth that some people have and others don't). I tend to get a sore swollen spot there that coincides with my monthly hormones. As a dental hygienist it bothered me at first, but I have been assured it is OK but a few dentists. So I wouldn't worry, just mention it to your dentist and make sure they are doing an oral cancer screening at your visit. If the area if not bright red, white or blue you shouldn't be too worried.
Hope that helps.
