If i get a doctors note will I still get a dress code dhall?!

Question: I got my lip pierced for 9 months and well its been fine til my dad ripped it out (litterally) and well it was a bloody mess. (the ball squeezed through the hole my lip didnt rip or anything)

now its infected I was wondering since you have to keep the jewelry in for the infection to heal would a doctors note work against the dresscode against piercings? Would they accept it and let me wear it at school?

And dont give me any crap about lip rings...you dont like them fine but i dont care about your comments

Try a really subtle lip ring, and talk to your principal. A doctors note should definitely be enough

Ouch. My lip hurts just thinking about it.

Well, this type of thing depends on the school. Some are more lenient, and some have zero-tolerance policies even towards piercings. Unfortunately, I think more schools than not interpret their policies very strictly. But of course, I don't know what your school is like, so I can't really say. I think it's worth giving the doctor's note a shot, but there's not guarantee that it will work.

At our school, no that wouldn't work. They would tell you to take it out or send you home. I guess you could have a parent call up there before you go.

Schools are pretty strict on these things, if they let one person slide, then they have to let another and another until there is no point in having the rule at all.....get my point? It was several years ago my son had his ear pierced, his football coach took a look at his ear and said either my son could take it out or he would for him. My son took it out and never did pierce it again. Sounds to me like your dad doesn't want you to have a piercing either. Maybe you should leave it out to keep peace all around. You may decide later on that it's not for you after all. Keeping it now after this type of trauma may make the opening wider, wider permanently.
