Do you think its OK to get a tooth pulled and not put in a replacement?!

Question:

Do you think its OK to get a tooth pulled and not put in a replacement?

I have eaten on only one side of my mouth for at least a year. The dentist wants to repair it (root canal), but I want it pulled so I will never have to worry about it again. It is the second tooth from the back, so you can't see it.
Do you think there is a particular age you should be to have a tooth removed permanently?

Answers:

Definately get it fixed. If you get it pulled it will make the back tooth move. Also if there is a tooth that bites and touches it it will either drop down (if on top of mouth) or it will raise up (if on bottom). Also wouldn't it be nice to be able to use both sides of your mouth? Root canals really aren't a very big deal. Generally not painful at all. No, there is no age to get a tooth removed permanently. If all of your teeth are in bad shape...then you should get them removed and get dentures. But if it is just one or just a few you should get those fixed. Hope this helps!
