My wire hurts. what should i do.?

i just got a wire in my mouth in preparation for braces. when i chew i obviously move my tongue and it scrapes against the sharp bands around my two teeth. it hurts so bad! what should i do please help. also would blue or green be good colors for braces? please answer. thx.

thank you all who helped im definitly going to use my brace wax if i can get to it.

definately blue for the braces color... dont do green cuz it looks like u got stuff all over ur teeth... i made that mistake... green teeth for a month isnt fun.
as for the prep wire... go to ur orthadontist and get wax. thats what i did. it helped a lot. good luck with ur braces!! <3
