Question: i am 13 and i suck my thumb and i want to stop but it is hard .When i suck my thumb i feel better some times but my thumb is dark and it is sore what is wrong ,i suc my thumd when i go to sleep and at school its a really bad habit i really need to get rid of the habit.plz give me tips

Now is the time to stop this habit. Put some hot sauce or hot pepper on your thumb or wrap it in a bandage. If you can make it through one day, treat yourself to something like a ice cream soda or pizza. Now try for day two with gloves on.
Keep rewarding yourself if you go a day without sucking. You need to break this habit. If you can resist sucking for a week, you will probably not suck again. It takes a week or so to break a habit. Good Luck.
Just tell yourself, your to old for it. And how emberrassing it is.
You have to tell yourself your to old, and you have to tell yourself. You want to stop. Find something else to replace it. like a lollypop. or a pop sicikle. Put some pepparreka on it.

I know that when a friend of mine (female) got acrylic nails put on for a dance it wasn't comfortable so she couldn't insert her finger/thumb.
Another friend of mine had to get braces and she didn;t stop until they were put on. Then they inhibited her.
put suntan lotion on your thumb every moring so that when suck it you will stop because it tastes bad. if your stopped every day you wont do it no more.
tell you orthodontist, there is this thing you can get that goes at the roof of your mouth so you cant suck your thumb and also on it there is this thing for your tung to play with.
just tell your orthodontist that you still suck you thumb and ask if there is anything he knows of he should tell you about that thing just told you about
