Kinda gross but seriously asking?!


Question: sooo for years ive noticed these white yellowish solid clumps that are sorta buried in the back of my throat glands and occasionally they come out, they are kinda smelly and small but they are always there then when they come out the grow back.....does anyone know what they are called or what the heck they are??

Yes, they're called tonsil stones, and it's nothing to worry about.

I used to get them too. It is just old food that gets stuck back there in the crevices. I went to the ear nose and throat doctor and had my tonsils removed and since there are no longer any crevices back there I never have this problem anymore.

You need to see an ENT, an ear, nose and throat specialist. It sounds like you have some kind of an infection.

Like two others have mentioned it is tonsil stones. You have your tonsils still and there is old food that just accumulates and gets stuck there and over time it just builds up and forms into a nasty ball of odor and old food. The only thing that you could do to get rid of them is get your tonsils removed. Another thing that may help is it you take a q - tip and kind go back there are sort of push them out. I have a friend that has to do this all the time because he has the same problem that you do but then again that depends if you can do it without making yourself gag. =) Gross I know.
