Orthodontist has suggested jaw surgery?
has anybody had this done.. it seems a big op n is it worth it for a better 'bite'

WHAT??? Unless your in pain with your jaw then no way.. its very extreme!
Normally orthodontists just use braces and bands to get a better "bite" as in over bite under bite or cross bite.. i have a slight over bite (that doesn't bother me) but my orthodontist is sorting it out with my brace and elastics.
